So I'm in the market for a PowerFC... Found one already for $870(ecu+commander). My dilemma however, there are no tuners or dynometers anywhere around Kentucky... Atleast none i know of.

So I'm stuck looking for a facility capable of tuning PowerFC's anywhere around KY, IL, TN, GA... If anyone can help me out i'd appreciate it.Thanx

Your going to need the FClodgit software or they are going to rape you on the tune. Doing it with a commander is going to take a while and time is money on the dyno.

I went to that website and checked out screenshots of his software and i don't think the software i have matches that... so maybe you can help me figure out what mine is used for. All i can tell you about the name is that it is zipped into a file called FCPRO.zip and the executable inside is called FCCOM.exe which launches a menu with "Power FC Communication, Log File, and Data File." is this the same software you are talking about from that website?

*** I'm really looking for a tuner for the PowerFC i'm about to order***I don't mind doing Street tuning but would rather it be on a dyno for safety/law reasons ect.

Balanced Performance in Sugar Hill, GA

Supposedly, Ed, the tuner, is the best in the southest according to Grassroots Motorport magazine.

So if i had my own software and was linked via laptop... the "tuner" wouldn't charge as much? Why is this?

Your still going to need the box to plug into. PFC---Box---Laptop. I think even the regular PFC software that the tuners have has some kinda box for conversion of some sort.

Yeah i've been looking at the datalogit site... looks pretty user friendly.Don't suppose anyone has had any experience with these? Just wondering if it would be worth my money to spend $397 for the software+converter... or another hundred or so bux for an extra hour on a dyno using the commander. Opinions???

According to my dyno shop, they will tune the FC for $120/hour with wideband at a max of 3 hours (said it rarely takes that long). So that still comes out cheaper. I believe the dyno tuners have the rights to the Apexi tuning equip.

Its goind to depend on if you feel comfortable playing with your motor. You could blow it up running too much timming and not enough fuel. Hell they could blow it up on the dyno lol. I have a wideband and a EGT gauge so I have no fear. You would need a wideband tho thats a must to tune.

accel junky: Does your tuner have a website.. maybe email i could reach them for further questions?

I wouldn't mind having the datalogit software and converter but that is going to have to be an option further down the road. Right now I would suffice with the PowerFC+Commander+Dyno+Tuner...

Yeah, I went to get my car smogged today. It passed but the tech manipulated the settings on my fc quite a bit. I tried getting them back to how they were but like most of you may know that have the fc commander, it does take a long time. So I pulled over and plugged my stock ecu back in and drove home and am now looking in forums to see if anyone has the settings that the fc for the sr20det has from apexi. If I get nowhere with this, I'm just taking my car down to XS Engineering and have them tune it. Just kind of sucks tough, I wanted to wait until I had a turbo upgrade before I headed to XS. But hey s*** happens. Any one running pretty much the factory settings on their fc with sr20det? If so it would be cool if you could hit me up with an e-mail on what they are.

Thanks!

I can tune you here. We use datalogits for all different Power FC's and yes we have one for the Sylvia. It is recommended to acess many parts of the maps that you can't get to with just the commander. You don't really need to buy it since I can dial everything in pretty well. We are located in Detroit suburbs.
