Anyone here use the Apex'i Power FC? If so, what kind of gains did you see with what setup? User friendly? Complicated install?

I am thinking about getting one and would like a head's up on it before so.

its user friendly once you get the whole thing installed and tuned. but to do that you need to be fairly skilled and a dyno w/ a wide band sure does not hurt

also if your going to spend that kinda money on a ECU, you might as well just go all out and opt for a complete and full standalone unit, you'd be much happier in the long run and will offer you more tunablitly (is that a word?) ;)

but full standalones dont come with base maps set up for specific applications...power fc is plug and play, and with the commander you can make the adjustments needed, without real access to a dyno...better for some in that sense.

Its almost it's own standalone because it replaces the factory ecu altogether I believe...

I'm running the power fc on my jdm s13 and I love it. With the base settings it's just a plug and play boost up computer. It increases response and about 29hp. I would recomend getting the commander as well. With the commander you can do just about anything you want. Using the base settings is very easy. In about 5 minutes of time on the commander I installed the z32 mafs and 555 injectors. It's an awesome unit and can monitor alot of stuff, water temp, ign, boost, rev, etc...It also does a self check on all your stock sensors and tells you what the voltage is going to each sensor and if there's any of them that aern't working properly it lets you know. There's alot of advanced settings that I haven't even attempted to mess with because of my lack of knowledge. You can download the instruction manual off of the net and it's fairly helpful. Oh yea, it's a standalone ecu. I almost forgot.

almost like standalone, but unlike standalone you still need all the factor sensors

well in turn.....yes you can make minor adjustments with the apexi power fc commander, to have it fully tuned, you have to bring it to an authorized tuner....of which there are not many in the US, and most of us are not lucky enough to have one local...

but yes the power FC is more than twice as good as a jwt ecu...two totally different beast, and i dont think they should be compared.

Yes the new PFC Pro alloys you to use a map sensor and eliminates the mafs if you choose to get rid of it.

Yep, it's the new model only. The older model pfc didn't come with that option. :( It's all good though I don't plan on running more than 350rwhp with my setup anyhow. For now...
