What is the difference between the S1 and S2 RB25 Power FC?

Also How do you check which series engine you have?

NVM guys I found the information.

I have a guy trying to sell me a power fc out of his S14 for a S2. I have a S13 S2. This should not matter as long as its a S2 Power Fc correct?

A series 2 ecu will work on a s1 and a s1 ecu will work on a s2. I have a s1 ecu on my s2 right now

I wouldnt think they were the same due to one having an ignitor chip and one not.

This is all confusing to me!!

The guy is going to send me a picture of the power fc. Is there some numbers on it I need to look for to make sure its compatable?

The s1 and s2 ecu's work the same. the s2 doesn't have the igniter chip in the ecu, they're in the coil packs

This is the ECU this guy is trying to sell me. The serial number has sr20 in it. Im assuming this was for an sr20. Will this work? the guy says it has a selection for 6cyl.

I know nothing about the FC's and I don't wanna get screwed. Thats why im asking alot of questions. Thanks for the help.

They are pretty much application specific. If it's made for an SR20 it's not going to work on your RB25. This guy is either clueless or trying to screw you, I think.

There is no way a 4-cyl ECU will work with a 6-cyl ECU unless it is fully programmable. The PFC is more of a plug-and-play item so it is engine specific.

The rb25 pfc ecu's or all rb25 ecus are unique. You cant make any other ecu work besides a z32 or something like that. But that takes tons of work I think. Your best off just finding a rb25 pfc. Expect to pay around 1k for the rb25 pfc though.

rb26 pfc can work on rb25 if you know what you're doing. i think you'll lose the VTC though, but for your "drag" application it probably doesn't matter.

Ya im just going to make it easy and buy the correct one for it. I really don't wanna get into the wiring that goes with converting one over. I would rather pay an extra few hundred dollars to make it easy. But Thanks for the information, I know what to look for now.
