Are the chips inside the Power FC units interchangible? If I had a copy of the CA chip that's inside the CA Power FC, could I swap it into a Power FC box that came with the SR chip and have it work? Anyone have experience with these boxes as far as the chips are concerned?

thanks,

-M

I dont think so I assume the SR harness although very similar to the CA will have different pin points.

havent peopled tuned the SR ECU and such to with with the CA? I would think the SR power FC could be done the same...... with proper tuning.

Someone has tune my ca18det with a Sr20DET #62 ecu, run like a charm I can also use a laptop for tuning and see sensor and all that stuff the only thing is I don't know how exactly they did it, you need to make a few wire change and reprogram the ecu. Hope it help but It can be done.

Yeah, some folks have done it but I wanted to keep my intake butterflys working and the SR ecu's wont have the rpm trigger for that solenoid. I guess if I could run up on an SR Power FC for $500 instead of $1,200 for the CA unit I could be persuaded to give up the butterflys but.....

Was it the S14 SR power FC that is the only one that will work (plug in?)..or are the SR power FC's pretty much the same?

thanks,

-Matt

It needs a conversion harness to be run on a ca18det (sr20det PFC)

but like you said It wont have provisions for the butterflies.

Not sure FC datalogit for PFC even has provisions in it to control factory ca18det butterflies, could be wrong though.
