Does anyone know how to bypass the rev limit when your foot is on the brake pedal in our cars? Some of you could interpret this as "How can I power brake in my car?", although that is not my intent. My real goal is improving 60' times at the drag strip.

I messed around with the brake switches and there are two. One is a double pole unswitched where there are two white power lines and one purple and one lt blue output lines. The purple works the brake lights. The other switch is a single pole switched, which appears to link to the cruise control, so that when you tap the brake, the cruise turns off.

The only unconfirmed line seemed to be the lt blue one. I spliced into that one this morning... started my car, put it in drive then disconnected this line, hoping that my magical 2k rev limit when my foot is on the brake, would be gone. But... this was not the case. I am still stuck launching at 2k at the strip if I can't find a workaround.

Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions that you guys may have.

Get an uprev tune; there is setting in the ECU specifically for brake stand launches. It's called the burnout mod. Talk to Joe aka seymore4. He did my tune and several other members here and lots of guys in the 350/370 forums.

I asked Joe about this when he did my tune. He said that the burnout mod is only available for the Z/G crowd.

Idk; he told me he loaded it on mine. I can't really test or make use of it with AWD though. It's only good for to maybe get a little better launch. When did you get your tune? Maybe newer options now :gotme

I wonder if it's a V6 vs V8 thing. I may shoot them an email to ask. I would really prefer a DIY solution since I don't really have the mods to warrant an ECU tune at this time.

I got it back in March this year. Never thought anything about it until I read this thread. Maybe it's a V6 thing. http://uprev.com/secure/osiris-a-r-c

I believe you need to spice between the brake lamp wire (purple) and the ECM. Also, from another thread about this topic, you have to put the e-brake on, put the car in neutral, and then unplug or interrupt the brake signal; VDC light will turn on. Brake lights will not work. You are ready to powerbrake. I believe you have to shut the car off, reconnect the signal, and turn the car back on to get it back to normal.

Thanks for the info armybrat. I assumed that since the purple line worked the brake lights, that it was the other line (lt blue) that went to the ECU. I will give the purple line a try.
