so every time i turn my car on or off the power antennae goes NAAAAHHHHH GRRRRRRR NAHHHH GGRRRR BZZZZZZ GRRRRRRR!!! and it doesn't move.
naturally, a few blocks before i arrive anywhere, i turn off my radio so by the time i pull up, park, and get out, i save myself the embarassment of everyone looking for the wrong reasons.

I don't see a lot of power antennae's on your z's .. do you guys remove it, or does yours just work? i think i saw a new assembly for $50 maybe i'll just take it all apart and get'er'done

Sound to me like the mast is broken. Inside the antenna is a nylon mast the motor pulls and pushes to raise and lower the antenna. You only need to replace it or unplug the motor and leave it up.

From Nissan the part is about $54.

However, there are some others that say OEM for a lot less...

It's not hard to replace, just get all of the pieces of the old broken plastic out first.
