My antenna is all messed up and I want to replace it with a power antenna. What do I have to do to instal a power antenna in place of the current non power one? I'm prolly going to get the Metra universal power antenna. Any tips? Or is it not really worth the time?

the dealer that I called wanted $300 for it. That seems a bit much when this other one is less obnoxious looking when extended and it only cost $50

My power antenna doesn't work either. Even with the antenna stuck in the "down" position, I get decent reception, so I'm in no hurry to fix it. You can source an antenna from a junkyard or on eBay for less than the dealer is trying to sell it, and you won't have to worry about the fitment of a universal piece.
