Power antenna does not retract

Hey 99 q45t few days back the power antenna on my car just went to the extended position and now it does not retract even if the radio is off sometimes when i am driving it will retract itself and then it will extend again after a while. thanks for your help everyone.

You probably need a new antenna mast. Plenty of info in the previous posts, as its very common and its easy to attend to. basically you just have to get a new mast and then you take the antenna motor apart, and thats it.

The same thing has happened to me especially during the winter, and I have been able to fix it with a liberal application of WD40. After going up and down partially a few times eventually the mast would work normally. This idea may not work with your car but it may be worth a try. Good luck.

+1, try white lithium spray as well, that always worked on my old G20's power antenna.

Or light machine oil. Much better than hygroscopic WD40.
