Power Antena

I purchased a new antena mast for my 94 Q45 and followed the instruction to remove knob holding it in place but when I started
the motor to pull out the mast it will not come out. Is there something that needs to be in unscrewed for the antena to release from
the motor? Any suggestions thanks.

A few months ago I had to replace my antenna mast and it also wouldn't pull out, due to the fact that the plastic piece had broken into pieces, inside the motor housing, where it's coiled up. I took the entire antenna assembly off the car, opened it up, removed all the broken, white plastic pieces inside, reassembled and reinstalled it and only then it pulled in the new mast. You may be facing the same procedure, if the old mast doesn't want to just pull out.
