power antena

hey i was just wondering, for all of yous guys that have power antenas, if the antena gets stuck like half way down.

i tryed using wd40 and it didnt help.

so i waswondering what would work,

i was thinking of getting those shaved antenas that go inside the body and you dont see anything from the outside...

if any of you have had that problem and fixed it or have the shaved antena fill me in please...

does it only go half way cuz it is bent? mine is totally broken off half way down. terrible reception. I hate power antennas. I wonder if something like an s2000 antenna would work.

nah its not bent or anything.. it stops on liek the last section of antenea and just say ahhh i think ill stay here...

The inside has a plastic ratchet and the atenna has a plastic flat rod that wraps around the gear,,,,something like a fishing line or a crane cable. Like the one I have, the rod broke and hence the antenna only goes hafl way up. You probably can hear the motor still running although the antenna is still only part way up. To test, when you energize the radio, jump out and help the antenna with your hand. I'm looking to see if the part can be replaced but I doubt it. Open it up is easy to see the inside of them.

That happened to mine before i was broken completely off. now i just here the motor running till it runs out of stuff to do. i need to get a replacement. any recommendations, i would really like to start listening to the radio again.

my problem isnt that it wont go up... its that it gets stuck half way down... and the motor stops runing when it stops, but if i give it a little push its starts to go...

heh, i have a smiilar problem, my antenna is stuck , it doesnt even come up half way, the rear wiper doesnt work , and i cant spray in the back either. maybe the power source to all 3 is messed up.

is t really that common in 240s cuz mine is broken too. Like you said the motor still runs but nothing moves. also does your climate control light up at night? only a few things on mine light up. thanks
