Hey!!!
I have a 2008 3.5 coupe.. Red

few months ago I plastic dipped the rims black loved the way the black went with the red.. Made the whole car look different.. I like to detail the car alot and of course with ware and tare of driving the dip started to peel Now im looking for something more permenant for the stockies. Im looking into powder coating and finding mostly 400 - 500 black flat or gloss but alot of places want the wheels without the car.. So id have to leave the care in the air for like 2 days with no wheels.. Does anyone know a place that takes the car and all ?? prices?? quality of work?? is painting another option?? does it last?? any info would be appreciateed also whats the though on black rims with the red car??

Oh yeah I live in the long island area willing to travel for the right vendor..

Thanks!!!

You have to remove the wheels from the car and the tires from the wheels because powder coating involves baking the pieces after they are sprayed.

I have a guy in Morristown NJ that should give you a good rate.

I go to a guy in Jersey City, NJ. He's pretty good and has fair prices. I actually just got one of my rims powdercoated and here's the outcome: Image

$100 for chrome to Gloss black.

You can check their gallery on facebook, just search needpowdercoating.com

What other costs can you expect from doing this?

TPMS? Just another Mount and Balance?

I know most places will mount a tire for like $10 or so, but how much would it be to remove and then reinstall the TPMS (I'd have to imagine you could not bake them with the coat)

Mount, balance and exchange TPMS on all 4 for $100, got this quote from a shop in Lodi, NJ. By mount I mean take off tires/put on tires then put on the car.

I highly doubt any shop that is powder coating your wheels is also going to unmount your tires. If you want it done, you need to figure out a way to get the tires unmounted yourself and then the wheels to the powder coater.
