Hey guys... quick question... Is the 6 speed manual on the Spec the same as the new Altima's 6 speed? The gal just got an 07 Altima with the manual... thinking of trading in my Xterra for a Spec... Wondering if the transmission was the same or not...

Also for anyone who has a Spec... LSD... how much do I want it? I'm not hardcore, and not planning on racing or installing any major mods...maybe a CAI or something like that...

Thanks for any Input...

I am kicking myself for tading in my Mazda 3 hatch for the Xterra, but I thought I wanted an SUV... LOL...

Not the same transmission, no.

The LSD is pretty much a must because of the amount of torque the car puts down. Without it it'll be hot to handle in the rain and in hard cornering.

The 6 speeds in the Altima, Sentra, SE-R and Versa are all different models.

Thanks guys... Going out to look at an 07 in red Alert with 4K miles... no LSD however... But the price appears pretty decent... around 16K?

Any of you driven a Mazda 3 for a bit? I know the Spec is faster, and the Mazda has a more modern rear suspension... but in everyday driving, would you say they are similar? I'll bet the Spec has a bit harsher ride eh?

LOL.. I guess I'll find out soon enough...

Thanks again...

Well people don't like sitting in the back of my car. Yes it's pretty hash but my point of comparison are a BWM 3 series and a Camry.

Haven't driven a mazda 3 but the speed 3 feels less hash yet hugs the road really well.

I was considering a Mazda 3 Touring 5-door before going with my SE-R. The ride in a SE-R/Spec V is gonna be a bit firmer, but my friends say the ride is still good in the back seat. I'm glad I got my Sentra though, it just feels right

Well.. I'll have to wait I guess... Got to the dealership... They couldn't find the car.. they said it must have sold or something... Tried to get me into an 04 WRX...

Arrrgh....
