Hey,

I'd like to start off saying great site and very informative. I went and test drove a G37 coupe and G37x coupe yesterday. Immediate "loveeeee" haha. I initially was going with the X all the way. But now I realize i'm unable to get the 19" rims which really add such a great look to the car. Now saying that I have a couple quick probably stupid questions if anyone can help me. If I go with the X can the 19" rims be put on without a problem being that it's awd? Say I do not go with the X, How does the RWD handle in snowy conditions (rain not so much a care to me)? Lastly, can the 19" rims accept snow tires? Sorry for the long post.

Let me try to help.... and No questions are stupid around here!

The summer tires are useless in the winter... You will be allright in light snow with only the RWD but you have to be careful.

If you have a lot of snow in your area... then get the x... If you are less than 10-15 days a year then get the RWD and make sure you get the S package with that lol.

The X can go through like a foot of snow "that is what some members claim lol"

The 19's Can be put on the X but you have to use the same size tires... And snow tires will be expensive for the 19's (Size i mean that they have to have the same circumference so that you don't mess up the traction control and awd systems)

But you can get it with the 18's and put snow tires on those rims for winter and 19's for summer with the x....

This is a RWD G35 with summer tires and 19's in the snow..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

This is an X in the smow

That really does help me thanks so much!! I mean i'm in southern NY. Winters are on and off. Sometimes we get murdered and for example last winter only a few crappy snow days. I don't mind paying extra for some snow tires for the 19's honestly and having RWD. I just wonder how the snow tires and the RWD really perform, because I know the AWD will be fine either way. But man i want those 19's haha.

I live about 5 hours north near Barrie, Ontario Canada in a snow belt. I had a G35 a couple years back and I can tell you the snow tires are like a dream. They make your car instantly rideable and reliable, INSTANTLY. Snow tires are a must, a 1/2 inch snow fall will destroy your summer tires. But don't forget a pair of snows need to fit over the Brembo brakes, so it ended up costing me $1300 for a set of 17's that fit, plus tires. That's the snag, but it's well worth it once you get going.

The dealer said I risk transmission problems with the X and 19's is this true?

Not if the tire circumference is the same!

If one turn of the front tire is 1.0 then one turn of the back has to be 1.0 not even 1.00001.... You get where I am going with this...

Ok the stock size on the 19's is 225 40 19 front and 245 40 19 rear...

If you have 245 40 19 on both then you will be fine! But you cant do it on the stock sizes... the rear is too tall
