Hello fellow Infiniti owners. I'm looking into buying a new car in spring and have my eyes set on a G37S. I am probably going to trade in my '06 RSX Type-S and I was wondering if there's a big difference from the '08 G37 5spd and '09 G37 7spd autos. I'll probably end up with a manual anyway because I'm so use to it and love being able to control which gear I'm in. I'm pretty sure there has to be some switchers from the RSX to G35/G37 in here as well and would like some of your insight. I crave for more power and torque and the G37S is within my budget. Thanks!

The 7speed will be much better on the highway for MPG... Probably like2-4 mpg's

I have had a g35 sedan loaner from the dealership... an 07 and with the 5 speed auto and only got 20 mpg at cruise at 80mph... Revs almost 3500 rpms at that speed!

My 06 6mt g35 revs at 2800 rpms at 80 mph! I get 26-28 mpg highway cruise!

And like you said... Get the 6MT... you won't regret it

That's pretty good gas mileage for a V6. I get around 30-33 mpg on highway for my four banger.

My friend has a 350Z and it's a great car, but I'm more into 4 seater coupes. I enjoy the luxury of having more than 1 person in the car and carrying more than 1 female on a night out

Thanks for the welcome!

I have the 6mt g35 and I can't stand the newer autos. I don't know if it was the adaptive learning or if the 7 speed will be better, but having the car shift 4 time between 0 and 40 was ANNOYING.

I can't imagine how "wonderful" it must feel with an additional 2 gears. lol

I think the gears are spread better! and then when it is in 6th... the old 5th ratio it drops down to 7th and really brings the tack down to much better rpms for highway driving!

Cool! Can we add a 7th gear to our manual gear boxes? lol
