So I got my new KA in as most of you know. There's a few problems plaguing functionality right now though. The two that are going to be sorted out tomorrow or after tomorrow are the distributor timing and the coolant leaking into the engine.

Here's the new problem I might have though. When the engine is running, theres a machine like whirring coming from the camshafts. It sounds almost like a supercharger at idle or just a little above. The guys at Autobacs told me that this is because the camshafts are torqued down too much. They said if they were torqued down too much, i'll probably have to replace them.

What's your guys take on this?

I can't describe it too well. The best description is that its a high pitched whirring that sounds the most similar to a supercharger at idle. Thats the best I can come up with. It doesn't sound like anything is really scraping or being damaged. It almost sounds like gears with certain teeth that make a whirring noise. Kind of like when you reverse it makes that sound. It's a sound like when gear teeth of a certain shape engage onto each other. I simply can't describe it much better than this.
