Tonight I was driving home on the freeway and hit a large pot-hole. The tire is flat now and I suspect my rim is also damaged. The freeway is due for construction from this Sunday to next Thurs, and the roads are constantly on repair nowadays here. I'm so mad that simple sign or cone could've prevented me from driving on that particular lane and now I have to spend tons of money for something that could've been avoided. I just filed online complaint to City and County of Honolulu, but I don't expect too much from them anyway. I'm running 18" chrome rim on my Q with low-profile tire plus eibach pro-kits. How do you guys fare with terrible road conditions with large rims? I'm not even sure if I should repair my rim or go back to old 15" BBS stock.

I have lots of friends with 18 and 19's with low pros and they are always having flats and several bend rims, part of the game. If you're driving a Vet with 315's you have enough rubber to compensate, but bottom line this is a hazard. Big reason i went with 17 245 45 and have had no problems. My cousin has a GS300 with 19's and gets flats once every 3-6 months and bent two rims already in LA.

235/60/15..............Flats, what is a flat? Haven't used a jack in 15 years. [The spare doughnut has never been on the ground]. Not to say I haven't pulled a few nails and patched just to be sure.

Life is tough enough without asking for problems.

The state of South Carolina actually has a program where they will pay you to fix your car if it is damaged by a pothole on a state road.

The roads are awful here. Few know about the program, but from what I hear it is easy to make a claim.

Check your state

Most states have them but limited to oem production parts [wheels] and sizes...............change tire size or aftermarket larger wheels and you may be out of luck?

Very interesting! Where would you make such a claim?

Heath, I can't remember how you make the claim....you must have to do it through the state D-O-T.

They probably have the system, because we must have darn near the worst roads in the state.
