I have a silver 2006 G35 coupe with 17" chrome Drag DR-19s. I'm going to get a new set of rims and paint my car... Here are my options:

Black paint with 19" black Tenzo TypeM rims orrrrrrrRed paint with 19" black Tenzo TypeM rims with red lip.(I go to Texas Tech so the Red paint and black/red rims would be pretty clean)

Any opinions?

How about the paint job? I have an estimate from a guy for about $2500 + $400-$500 for something called House of Colors something or another...

That seems low for a quality paint job....It should cost about double that if you go with a color that is different from the current color (door jams, and other areas are a pain to do).

+1

A quality paint job to change colors should run $6000 minimum unless you know the person doing it.

I think red withe black/red rims would look hot. I'm partial towards black though. Its just a PITA to keep clean.

Yeah I'm really not too sure about anything really. He hasnt looked at my car, it was just an over the phone guess. He is known for restoring old cars. He has had 2 or 3 cars in Lowride Magazine that he painted and stuff so....

Some of the best automotive paint out there is made by PPG. House of Kolor I've heard of but haven't had any experience with them.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of changing a color of a car. I guess I am just too much of a perfectionist.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of the flip-flops that change color with the angle and the light. The new Audi A8 has a flip-flop that looks either black, green, brown or blue. The BASF made some great flip-flops for Saleen that are commercially available. If you're going to invest the money in a quality job, it only costs a bit more to go first class.

True, but...that paint is VERY expensive, and if you wreck one fender, door, etc, it can't be matched.
