well i was searching about for the loss of brake pedal pressure. and while i was looking around i noticed an unusual amount of what seems to be oil and grime around where my valve cover meets my head. and while i was driving to school today i smelled oil. im prettymuch due for a new gasket and such. this is detramental only if i loose too much oil right or is there anything else i need to look out for. the cover is getting done i just wanna know should i be more worried than i already am. (not very worried)

Pretty normal for it to leak eventually, just check your oil level every few days until you replace the 2 gaskets.

I know the gasket comes in two pieces the piece that goes around the perimeter of the whole thing and the other part includes the two half circles in the front of the valve cover correct. also what kind of sealer do i need is it like a silicone deal.

2 pieces are the entire seal around the outside and the gasket with 4 circles around the spark plug holes. Need a little RTV on the 2 half circles, both front and back.

well im assuming you have a ka24de... the valve cover gasket is all one peice, at least all that i have seen. no half moon peices anymore. then theres one that goes around the spark plug holes...

all you do is pop off your valve cover, clean out the groove, place new gasket in/on, rtv the 4 little circular places and reinstall the valve cover... good luck! :dblthumb:

yep easy as that. You dont need to rtv the entire thing 'to be sure', just the corners on the round parts and anywhere where there are 2 pieces joining so it doesnt leak through the small crack (some cars have them not sure on KA). just be sure to clean it good
