How check if my head cracked?I blew a HG, there no external leaks.Just was getting compression in my radiator, and wht smoke.But what are the chances my heads cracked?thanx(92 ka24de)

I think it's more likely that it would be warped, considering it's aluminum... the block could be cracked, but why do you think anything is wrong other than the HG?

You can always pull the head and take it to a guy that does what I do and NDI it using the liquid penetrant method!! I would do it for you for free but I'm in Iraq right now!

Just wondering if there is a high chance of cracking the head.I would hate to replace everything then the head is no good.

i would take it and get it checked I guess.. I got mine shaved for like $35, just to make sure everything was striaght. did your car overheat really bad before it blew?

I bought w/ blown HG. I got it to start and the car never got hot only normal temp. But I was getting compression in the radiator.And water and wht smoke was coming from the muffler.But I pulled the engine out and now I need the head.Because something has broken off in the cyclinder in my new engine.
