(ps this is champagneG35's fiance', however I don't have a login and it's a question for him so I figured it was ok )
Anyways, so I was doing random searches to see how easy our g35 can be stolen, considering my loved one has a history of well... things being stolen. Then I came upon quite a few articles saying that the g35 headlights were commonly stolen, as they were worth over $2k, and easy to pop out. Then we got into a discussion where I wasn't quite sure what kind of headlights we had, as my fiance' thinks that there is a difference between just plain xenon (possibly what we have?) and xenon HID headlights (which are the ones being stolen). Ours is a 2003 g35 coupe, and from what I can tell there is no differences stated anywhere between HID xenon and non HID xenon if it exists.
Question number 2 he wanted me to ask, why is it only about $300 to upgrade to the 2006 version of headlights (I believe they're "bixenon projector", also not sure what that means). If supposedly the whole kit is worth $2k.
So yea, 3 questions. Are g35 headlights still commonly stolen? What is the difference between types of xenon, how many types are there, and what type of xenon commonly comes with the 2003 g35 coupe? Also, why is it so cheap to upgrade to the 2006 version from a 2003 version of headlights, and no I don't know where he got price hehe, but I guess somewhere around 2004 the g35 headlights had a street value of $2k judging from the theft complaints online.
Hope that's not too confusing, and thanks for any input
