Ok, My front left HID bulb went out and I bought some new HID D2R bulbs online. I took my bumper apart and replaced the bulb, but I get no love from the HID, the lower halogen fogs come on and the right side HID comes on. So I switched out the bulb on the right side headlight and the new bulb works fine. You guys think the Ballast could be bad? Also, if it is the ballast, is it a pain in the *** to replace in the headlight? Because Getting the headlight unplugged itself is a royal pain in the @ss lol.

I've been looking around and it looks like most headlight assemblies cost about $100-$200 or so, and some don't even come with the ballast... So I really don't know what I should do at this point.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If its under warranty take it to the dealer. If not check the lighting section in the shop manual. Perhaps someone here has had the same problem and can give you more info?

No need to take the bumper off to replace the headlights. You can do this thru the wheel well by peeling off the black plastic covering (at least you can on my car) and holding it in place with a bungee cord. Also sounds like either a bad ballast, bad connection/contact somewhere. Can you tell whether there is current going to the bulb with a meter?

Yes shes right. Here is a how you replace the bulbs on the G37 so it will be the same except where the bulbs are located.
