I have a 1990 2405spd, and I think my clutch is going out. The car shifts fine and everything, but when it gets into gear, its sluggish. In other words, when I release the clutch the car shifts just fine, but I'm revving the engine around 3500-4000 rpm to get any speed. I really have trouble at a stop light and to get going again it takes a little effort, and I'm afraid that always revving the engine like that will start doing more harm to my car. Any help is appreciated.

Def. sounds like the clutch is on it way out. My 95 had a bad clutch(Friend toasted it) I had to drive it for a few days basically it would slip slightly if I mashed on gas and catch 3k rpms the car was start to move.

Test I did, If I remember ..car off, put into first gear..turn on car if it moves..clutch is going. car should normally lurch foward and stall out.(Try in large empy lot to be safe)No harm will come to your car except eventually you'll be motionless out of clutch disc..worn down to rivets/more damage done to flywheel(resurface)
