I recently had a lower mileage ka24e installed in my auto s13. the problem i have is that the car bogs with midrange throttle. It seems to run smoother on very light throttle and full throttle. it also seems like the transmission and motor are not on the same page if you know what i mean. how do i adust and test my tps? I have checked for vaccum leaks and i have cleaned the injectors, egr and it has new plugs and wires. so i think it must be the tps.

to check the tps you want to check that it has steadily increasing output voltage per throttle movement.

find the signal wire. you can isolate it because at idle it should have about .3 volts or so. the others should be 0.0 and 5.0 or close to it. the one with .3 should gradually increase as throttle opens untill it is almost 5.0 at wot. you must check all that with sensor plugged in.

ok, i got my voltmeter. so do i check the wires coming out of the top or the side? there are 3 wires in each place. with the voltmeter, i hold the black wire on the battery negative and the red wire on the tps right? and i am doing this with the car running also?

No the test is performed with the car off. You will be testing the connecor on a small pigtail off the TPS. I believe the wire your testing is white.
