Post

I have written Ross Machining a letter regarding top feed fuel rails for the VH45DE, hopefully I will get a positive response and it will open up some rail/plenum options for NICO members.

Below is a copy/paste of the letter I sent:

Quote »Hi,

I'm looking to get a set of fuel rail extrusions from your company but was wondering if it would be possible to have a set made up so other Q45/VH45DE enthusiasts would have top feed options at their disposal as well.

I can supply 1st series and 2nd series VH45DE stock fuel rails for measurements, and would not require them back. (Primarily so you would have the center-line of the intake spacing)

On that note, the VH45DE intake system has a large spider-like plenum and eight individual runners/manifolds.

These top-feed fuel rails would not work with the factory plenum due to clearance issues.

These would be primarily for owners looking to replace their OEM plenum with an aftermarket one.

And to that effect, possibly offering a plenum/set of plenums for the upgrade?

I can also provide an "OEM spider-like" plenum to use for specifications for anyone looking to retain all the factory connections.

The 8 intake manifolds can be included as well, but I would need them returned for other projects that I have in mind for a later date.

I am a regular on http://www.nico.com , (Nissan Infiniti Car Owners Club), and we have a decent sized section of Q45 and VH45DE enthusiasts who I'm sure would be quite interested in this upgrade.

I refer to it as an upgrade since the OEM injectors and fuel rail are side-feed and the injectors tend to go bad more easily since the introduction of ethanol to available fuels here in the USA.

(Not sure if it will matter but as a side-note, the stock VH45DE motor uses 370cc, high impedance, side feed injectors)

I will be posting this letter to the Q45/VH45DE forums on NICO to see if any interest is gained.

Regardless of your decision regarding my proposal to offer a top feed alternative to NICO enthusiasts, I will still need a set of rails made for my projects.

Best Regards,-(NICO Username: Raxephon)[/quote] I will post whatever reply that I receive from them, when I receive it.

If Ross Machining decides to join/is a member of NICO and decides to post in this thread, it would be even better.

My question to NICO members is, would anyone be interested in this as well?

(Side-note, I have no affiliation with Ross Maching and am not trying to advertise anything. I am simply trying to help provide options for Q45/VH45DE owners)

I would be interested as I plan on a whipple type supercharger next summer and top feed injectors would be great!

Would you please take a rough measurement of injector spacing. If similar to my VH41, i'll buy a pair of RMR rails in a heartbeat

Initially, no.

But I'm tinkering with the idea of countersinking the injectors further into the intake manifolds to provide additional clearance.

I'm using 460cc high imp RX7 injectors for all my V8's initially.

And the actual dimensions of the injectors are relative to the oem 370cc injectors.

In other words, the injector port would only need to be countersunk the same amount of depth that the fuel rail is high.

Can i have some more info on your setup if at all possible? I've wanted to supercharge this thing for a while. Although i absolutely do not have the money for it now i'd like to start looking at options and pricing.

If you want to be discrete about it shoot me an email.Chase.Gardner@Gmail.com

Thanks!

Please don't be discrete.

If you don't want to post in this thread, then please start a new thread regarding your supercharger project.

I have an older Eaton M90 in mind for my supercharger project, but I will post a new thread regarding it at a later date.
