waste of time. i was researching it cause i was interested, but found the s15 transmission are weak.

a lot of pro drivers in japan were switching the s15 transmission to the s14 transmission due to its weakness.

shoot, even the sr guys in japan are switching to the r25 transmission

Hmm have you pulled an rb25 transmission before? Because I'm pretty sure if you have, you wouldn't have made this statement.... I've done numerous transmission swaps on lifts with all the right equipment, and I still think transmission swaps are a big pain in the ***

With a rb20 belhousing you could put it in there. But because it is so small and a 6 speed. The gears are narrow as he!!. Can you say trany problems. Stick with a rb25 trans. Change the rear end gearing if you dont like it.

Dont be little my intelligence, ive done transmission swaps on a 300zx tt on jackstands in the driveway without powertools, can you say *****? i obviusly know it'll be a *****, but it woudl be nice to have a 6 speed since its something ive never had before, but swapping out the diff would probably be the way to go.

I'm sorry you were offended by my post, but in all honesty it just wouldn't be reasonable to swap to a weaker transmission. On top of that to switch back the 25 when you want to track the car.

No one is trying to make you feel stupid. The fact is, it's pointless to have six gears. Even if you say you just want to cruise with them. You can cruise with 5 gears.. people do it everday. And you really want to be swapping transmissions to go race? please.

You WANT 6 gears.. and you don't know exactly why you want them. "because it's something you've never had before"... Perhaps you are fascinated with having one more gear than most people. But if you'd do some research, you'd see that regardless of whether you're just cruising, or racing, or doing WHATEVER, 6 gears are truly POINTLESS.

If that's not enough, consider that the S15 6 speed does not have a speed sensor located in the transmission. So, you're going to have some work ahead of you if you'd like to know how fast you are going. Now you're looking at an S15 rear end, extra wiring incorporation.. and since you're going to swap transmissions when you go race, you'll have to have two driveshafts handy. Oh, you'll also need two different transmission braces.

Good luck.

well say i wanted some insanely close gearing with a close geared rear end and the stock transmission gearing wasnt doing it for me. or on the flipside, say i wnated an extremely long gearing to do some insane high speed pulls. then it may have some worth, but yeah i see how you guys are right, a diff swap would be the way to go.

think about the R34 GTR box...

sounds more logical to me...

or maybe the HKS sr transmission, only the internals... it's a 6 speed, and strong as hell...

then you can enjoy both 6 speed, and a strong transmission....

good luck finding a 6spd trans from a r34 vspec2 and a supra getrag to make it rwd.its like finding a gold penny, doesnt happen.

last time i checked, they had about 10 of those in the yahoo japan auctions...

i almost bought one, but i wasn't thrilled of the idea of spending 2.5K$ on something that will not surely work...

aside from what everyone says the S15 trans isn't that weak. It can stand up to 350 lb-tq and hold up. I would just think it would be really expensive for just an extra gear...

Quote »6spd trans from a r34 vspec2 and a supra getrag to make it rwd.its like finding a gold penny, doesnt happen.[/quote]yup, it's like find a gold penny. however, if you can find a good fabricator to make you a plate to adapt the rb block to the supra's transmission....it's an easier route. both the supra tt and the r34 6-speeds are getrags, you supposely if you can find an r34 special edition bellhousing it'll mate to the supra tt transmission. this is the only 6-speed and the t56 6-speed transmission i'll ever consider if i want 6 speed.

why go 6-speed while the rb25 transmission can handle all the power you'll ever see?!?!

or this method can be feasible. (t56, custom bellhousing)
