Possible to shorten how long interior lights stay on?

My biggest beef with our 2000 Quest is how the interior lights stay on for a whole 30 minutes before auto-shutting off. This is absurd and a huge drain on the battery, especially with all those incandescent bulbs on at the same time. What was Nissan thinking??

Better question is: how can I make it stay on for a lot less time in order to save my batt? 30 seconds would suit me just fine, can't see any benefit to leaving it on for 30 minutes.

Has anyone done this mod and can share?
