The sides of the seat on my G37 S are more annoying then helpful. i am a bigger guy and there seems to be a metal part not far underneath the padding that annoys the hell out of me. any possible way to remove this piece? if so how can i get access??

I assume you could get to it from the bottom. First thing to do would be to pull the seat out and see what access you have.

Both the back and cushion bolsters are adjustable. Have you made them as wide as possible?

Couple of people done it. I really hate the sport seat because of that. You have to take it apart and you can remove it. All I heard is good thing after removing that.

Good luck with it. Maybe if you do it you do a write up. Make it easier for the next guy with same problem.

I would start by removing the leather, before removing the seat.

On my 05, there are 2 zippers in the back that hold the leather in place, unzip those two and pull the leather off and you should be able to see what you're working with.

I do think the sport seats need a little more softness to them

IMHO

That would be a cool write up. I would like to see the seat with out the leather on it.

how can u widen the seat bolsters?? i am in big regret getting this car. I was going to get a "winter" beater but being in the car for 2 months, i hate it. I loved the look of it and at first i thought the seats were no big deal, just break them in. now im having room issues, i hate the trunk. i just got so caught up in the actual look of the car that i totally bypassed other things (winter, comfort) so im going to return the car. i know they are going to kill me on the return but ill roll that into another payment (Fx35 or G35X) Its an awesome car, just not for me....

I don't mean to be mean, but I'd suggest losing weight or muscle...which ever.

I'm 6'3" around 250lbs and I fit in my G35 coupe without a problem. Losing about 20 lbs would make the seats perfect for me.

As far as the trunk is concerned...It's a sports coupe. You actually can't put 4 normal sized people and cargo in the back at the same time. That would exceed the maximum load capacity.

Dropping my rear seat gets the job done most of the time. I was able to fit 17 7' coroplast signs and 20 aluminum tripods in my coupe. It's all about how much effort you're willing to put into it.

My wife was able to use her Celica to move about half of our belongings out of our apartment and into storage. That was due, in part, to the fact that she has a hatchback and folding rear seats, but still...

that is very mean. what kind of welcome is that to a new member? i am 6'2, 275lbs. (down 80lbs in 1 1/2 years by the way) i had an acura rl before and it was uncomfortable at first but the seats were fine after a few weeks. i thought the same in this case but these sport seats are different. as u can see other people also dont care for them. while some people love them im sure. the car just wasnt for me. im not knocking it. i just had plans on getting a winter car and going from there. now that ive spent 3 months with the car i realize i hate how small it is. the RWD is my main factor though.

I'm 6'5 240 pounds I wouldnt step near a coupe if I were 6'2 275. Some of my friends get in my car and say im too big for my sedan, but then I tell then I could do donuts around their SUVS....lol

A G35 isn't that much bigger than a G37, and the FX is pretty damn big. Why not get an EX35? That way you'll have the sportiness of the cars, with the added space of a crossover.

BigMarc    I found a solution for You on another forum.I dont think We are aloud to post links to other forums here, so E-mail Me for the link. The solution is to remove the leather cover from the seat bottom, and cut off the metal brace that is hidden inside the bolsters.Apparently, this does not change the visual appearance of the seat, but makes them very comfortable. The shop that did this might be near You ! It is Accurate Auto Tops & Uphulstery in Edgemont Pa.  Another solution, is to swap seats with somone here.Im sure lots of people would want sport seats for their non sport model.

Just kidding man... no offense taken.... I am sold on getting rid of the car, although i appreciate some of the info that was provided. my main issues are the seats and RWD. i dont even know why i got it in the first place. i was so caught up in how sharp the car looks that i totally forgot about everything else. plus my brother was living with me at the time, assuring me i would have access to his truck in case of snow. i realize the sedan isnt much bigger but without the sport seats it would be more comfortable and with the AWD it would provide peace of mind.... seems like a good group here, i look forward to staying in the family. thanks again for the help, sorry if i vented some....
