I'm gonna have to switch exhaust manifolds sometime soon, and i'm not sure if you can even get the manifold off with the motor in the car, and if you can, it's got to be a ***** to do. Anyone ever taken a tubular manifold off with their SR20 in their car??? Also, we were thinking of cutting the oil and coolant lines, and inserting tubing and hose clamps so you can leave the lines bolted to the turbo and have them stay in the block at the same time to simplify things. I know that one of the coolant lines connects BEHIND the motor, and that just wouldn't be fun to get off and back on. Any thoughts?

Took me a couple hours to remove the manifold, turbo and o2 extension. Id just unbolt the coolant and oil lines. Any custom fab job there i'd do with steel braided or heavy duty lines, not clamps.

When we did my turbo gasket, we did the exhaust manifold gasket, so yes, you can get it off with the engine in the car. I know which coolant line you are talking about. We unhooked that line from the turbo, not from the back of the engine. And yes, that was a PITA to get back on, but it can be done. Get an S15 gasket while you have it off. metal gasket instead of carbon paper.

Or you could get a Mr Gasket copperseal gasket for an SR20DE and put it on your engine.

Yeah we just pulled my top mount mani off, and it wasn't too hard, in fact it was pretty easy, the only thing that was kinda a ***** was that we had to take off the wastegate etc etc because we had to relocate that stuff to get the manifold and turbo to fit. But yeah it's not too hard. Chris
