Hello all, new to the forums...

I just bought an Altima Sedan 3.5 SE (6MT of course) back in September.

This is probably a "no" (hope for no flames...), but I'll ask anyway...

Does anyone here know if it's possible to have VDC installed from Nissan after I bought my car?

From what I've read, it seems to just be some additional software to control the ABS and TCS better, so it seems on the surface like it should be a relatively minor procedure to add (although not necessarily cheap). I have both ABS and TCS, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the VDC option.

if you have the vdc option there will be a button for in on the left under side of your drivers side dash. you can turn in on and off.

As the OP mentioned, he did not get VDC with his Altima and wants to know if he can add it.

Well, then as I thought, I don't have it, since I only have a TCS on/off button and a trunk release where you are talking about.

Thanks.

I should have mentioned that I have the 07 sedan, not the 08 coupe, as I was waiting to get end of model year deals. The sedan works better for what I want anyways: sporty 4dr car that can easily fit four people. I drove a '92 2dr celica a couple years back that I got for like $500 and didn't like not having a real back seat.

Anyway, back to the original question...

No, its not that simple. Most likely, components of the vehicle need to be swapped out for the VDC version. I couldn't tell you what they exactly are but they are probably a series of sensors and a hydraulic setup.

that is what I thought but hey you never know these days maybe cheaper to use one wire harness for all cars in the line . If that were the case all you would have to do is add sensors and a switch .
