My 01 pathfinder is running rough all of a sudden. Yesterday it was smooth, driving around today at some point between stops I noticed it was running like a coil pack went out or a plug had died. Took it to autozone for the free diagnostic to pinpoint the problem and got several error codes, P0300, P1320, P1145, P0505, and P1131. The printout concluded that I need to replace timing chain and tensioner. That's an expensive conclusion, just checking to see if anyone else has seen this scenario before. Thanks

Hi CregK, please see this thread discussing timing chain issues. Maybe you have an oil pressure problem. It sounds like a common issue. Oil pressure is used to keep your chain tensioned. Bad oil pressure can cause many issues with timing and misfires. Timing Chain Issues:

I think testing your oil pressure is a good idea. Maybe that plastic gasket mentioned has broken on yours.

Looking at your codes seems like you could also have a vacuum leak, causing issue with the idle air control valve and maybe the EGR swirl Valve. You can also look for a common denominator in your codes by looking at each one in the FSM, EC chapter. Here's a link for that:

Finally, in December 2014 you promised to keep us posted with your rear end shimmy issue... it's never to late to keep your word. Some might be interested to know if they can do it themselves or if they need a shop to do it for them. ;)
