So I know you guys probably detest these threads, especially from new guys... and especially from people who don't actually have a chassis to work with.
However, I'd really like to hear some opinions first hand from people in addition the smattering of posts I've read through the search.
I'll be working with an S13 chassis and the car will be used for drift events, but will still need to be able to get to the location as I don't plan on towing it anywhere.
The suspension is where I was looking for some opinions though. I originally planned on getting Tein Super Drift dampers, but I haven't really heard much about them on here...
My only worry about them was that they were based more towards competition than street (which is what I was looking for) but the car WILL still be driven on the street. Not as a daily driver, but it'll still see freeway use and seeing "setup to initiate a slide" combined with "seeing freeway use" has me second guessing these for this particular application.
I've seen a lot about Stance's GR+'s which look like a nice option, but was just wondering if there were other opinions on coilovers that might fit in this case.
Price range would be around the $1500 range.
Wrapping it up, I just wanted to know a bit more about the suspension of the chassis itself. I planned on replacing all the bushings with a master bushing kit, but should I think about doing more? It's main focus will be drifting, so would replacing all the arms/links/rods be a better idea for long term sustainability and performance? Or would it just be overkill as I don't plan on going for sponsors or trying to go pro.
I know this is all pretty repetitive to you guys, but I appreciate any input.
Also, if your in the LA area (I'm in Riverside) and ever want some shots of your car feel free to shoot me a PM. I used to shoot weddings for a living, so cars aren't quite my expertise but I can still get some pretty nice shots. I wouldn't mind trading a photoshoot or two for a chance to get up close with some of these cars and learn more about them.
Thanks,
Mike
