Very randomly, every couple weeks or so, I'll try and start my car (1992) and absolutely nothing will happen in the engine. The CEL comes on and all the electrical in the interior works (new battery) but there is no clicking, turning over, or sounds as if the motor is attempting to start. I give it a couple tries over a couple minutes, and then it fires right up. It hasnt been a serious issue but I dont want it to turn into one.

I'm assuming that its the solenoid because once it fires up it fires up immediately, whether its 100 degrees or 10 its exactly the same.

Anybody with a similar problem figure it out? I hate throwing parts at it until I get it right until I absolutely have to.

look up starter in tutorial link in my signature.

you always hit the solenoid and starter to see if they have failed.
