i've been asking around here and in cyberspace for a solution to the whole XM Sirius thing. my issue is that i have 2 sirius radios and xm has no record of it, and since their computers can't talk to each other they can't give me a multi-radio discount with the rogue.

this is from sirius:Dear Lou, Thank you for contacting SIRIUS regarding what equipment you will need to change from XM to SIRIUS. We're here to help! The equipment you need is a SIRIUS Connect Interface adapter. You will see all the adapters we have if you check our web-site at http://www.sirius.com. There are several types of adapters and they range in price.Lou, if you need further assistance, you can contact SIRIUS Product Support at 1-800-869-5364 and a representative will be glad to assist you.

and now a reply from bose:Hello Lou, Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Automotive Music System in your 2009 Nissan Rogue. In answer to your question, the Satellite Receiver in your vehicle is supplied by Clarion Corporation for Nissan Bose Corporation supplies the speakers and amplifiers. I would recommend contacting Nissan Customer Assistance at 1-800-NISSAN-1 for the different satellite options on your vehicle or you can try Clarion Corporation directly at 1-800-347-8667.Please let me know if you have any further questions.Thank you for contacting Bose Corporation.Patty BolackConsumer Relations Division

sooooo the adapter can be bought for $59 directly from sirius i'm sure it can be gotten cheaper on ebay or elsewhere.

more info to follow as i get more to share.lou

I would be very careful checking this out before you take the plunge and buy something.

I have looked at the Sirius website and it appears there are actually 2 parts to the SiriusConnect system:

1 - SiriusConnect™ Universal Vehicle Tuner2 - SiriusConnect™ Interface Adapter

Head units that are 'Sirius Sat Radio Ready' can connect directly to the Universal Tuner. The BOSE system in the Rogue is not 'Sirius ready', however there are several aftermarket head units that are. If not, then you need an Interface Adapter. Sirius' website gives some examples of the connections and a compatibility list.

Also, although Clarion may make the sat radio tuner for Nissan, it is specific to the BOSE system and may not be 'Clarion Compatible'. I have my doubts that you could use the Clarion Interface Adapter with the BOSE head unit.

I will do some more searching, but so far I have not read of anyone successfully using the SiriusConnect system in a Nissan.

It's too bad Sirius and XM can't get their act together. I am sure they are losing customers in the process... then again where else do you go for sat radio?

After some more research....

The Nissan BOSE head unit (and for that matter any recent Nissan head unit) uses thier proprietary N-BUS to interface to external devices. ie sat radio or iPod adapter.

N-Bus seems to be a version of Clarion's CeNET but so far they don't seem to be compatible with each other.

This SiriusConnect solution doesn't look too promising now as they do not have an N-Bus adapter.

This seems strange with the knowledge that XM/Sirius is now one and the same company. However I do know from personal experience that Sirius often cannot find me in their system without MUCHO information being given to them. They recently mailed me an info sheet with ID numbers so that has made it easier to id me. I have 4 vehicles with Sirius and I LOVE Sirius programming as well. Most of the stations I listen to have transitioned to both services because they give the channel number in XM/Sir.

I'd contact them by phone and explain your situation. I would not buy any additional equipment to get Sirius, when XM will offer you basically the same channels, surely if you threaten to cancel, someone can help you to get the discount.

It's well publicized that Sirius/ XM are in financial trouble having wasted millions paying for nonsense channels such as Martha Stewart, Howard Stern, etc... so they should value every account at this time.

cray, even with all my info, sirius & xm can't talk to each other. they won't give me the part as a long time and loyal customer and won't budge if i threaten to leave their company. maybe if i keep trying i'll get a sympathetic person on the phone eventually.

thanks for the replylou
