Possible scammer? Check it out...

So I run into this ad in some local PR classifieds. Notice he does not leave a phone number and keep in mind that Adjuntas is a pretty remote mountain town surrounded by tropical rainforest:

I email him this:"Please send me a phone number to ask you some questions about the car.Por favor envíeme un número telefónico para hacerle unas preguntas sobre el carro.Carlos."

He replies this:"sorry but i don't have a phone ...we can comunicate on e-mails ...i will give you any information about the car ...let me know !!!"

I email him again:"No offense, but I will let you know that I am veryskeptical of this. First of all, the pic of the car doesn't seem to be inAdjuntas, PR; second, why would you be selling thiscar for only $2000; third, how does someone not haveaccess to a phone in PR at this day and age, andlastly what is a seemingly native English speakerdoing in such a retired and distant place asAdjuntas... Please send me some more pics of the car (front,passenger side, rear, interiors, and engine bay) and aphone number, time and date where I can reach you.Thanks!Carlos"

It sounds extremely fishy to me, but on the other hand I feel obligated to dig deeper because I don't want a possible $2000 '97 240SX to pass me by.

Any opinions, input, etc.???

How many people do you know that can post stuff forsale online, communicate via email and yet have no phone? Not to mention a low mileage 240 for 2K.

Update on the scammer: He emailed me using some funked up English...

"i say you someting ...i have more offert ....if you want i will accept your offert ... do you want to buy the car ? let me know !!!"

So I schooled him (the italics are a translation from Spanish):

Your English is pretty bad, bro. Allow me to help you: "Let me tell you something... I have other offers, but I will accept yours if you want." ... I obviously DO NOT want to buy **** from you; and by the way, you're a moron. Hope you get caught soon !!!

That's great man, my son Dylan just turned 9 months. As a proud father I'm allowed to brag, he's been in the top 90% at every checkup. He's almost walking already man...Do what I do, take a million pictures. Edit the ones that suck...but just make sure you take them.

Man...only downside is the funding for car projects gets hit pretty hard...lol.

Was a rough delivery...he had to get suctioned out because the wife unit was dialated enough. Then after when he was born they couldn't get him breathing. Did some baby CPR...got him going after a minute or so. I was Combat Rescue for 12 years so I knew it was a bad thing.

Once he was up and breathing he was given over to his Mom. He was snuggle, then quit breathing again. So Kate hit the E button and I started CPR. Push starting your newborn is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Had it not been for the rescue training I'd have freaked out.

BUT...he recovered great and is perfectly healthy.

Wow... Those must have been some really rough times. I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like.

It's a good thing you had training, bro. I have zero CPR experience, so I'm definitely taking a CPR course...
