Possible S30 build in the near future

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

What's up guys. I have been scoping out the hybrid forum for a couple of weeks now and I'm getting quite tempted with a LSx or a L28et swap. Anyone got any opinions?

Big difference in the two.

L28 is a bolt-in, LSx is a LOT more work.

Yeah I know Greg. I've been reading up on these but now I'm just looking for honest, legit opinions from people that have done solid builds.

What are you going to do with it?

I might be a little biased and have no actual experience w/ the L series, but I have to say go LSx...might even be lighter too if you stick with the aluminum block. Two guys here in KY doing it to S30s. One is for drag, the other for road race.

Cnichols, I was hoping you would be one of the guys that would chime in! I'm trying to read more and more up on the LSx since the L series will be very easy. Greg was kinda saying that the V8 would be more difficult. I don't shy away just because of that, but I want to learn more about it before I tackle this project. It's going to be my semi-daily driver, BTW.

I can say this:

I wish I had gone LSx on THREE different projects:

My S/C G35 CoupeMy high-hp KA-T S13 vertBecky's S30

Take that for what it's worth.

Thanks a lot, Greg. I just might do it. I would keep it pretty stock, as 300+ hp is quite a bit in an S30.

I might be making a mount kit for the S30 soon. I'll be sure to let you know if/when it happens. I don't forsee it being too difficult but should know more very soon.

Yeah, let me know, just in case I decide not to go L28et.
