I have heard that some dealers are privetly buying their leafs, taking the tax credit ($7,500?) and reselling the car as used for above the sticker price. Obviously this cannot go on for long, but if so, - WHAT A RIPOFF !!! :nono:

If you read the "Plug-In Electric Vehicle Credit (IRC 30 and IRC 30D)" description on the
IRS website, the tax credit only applies to the end-user, not to vehicles bought for resale. ;)

That's what I understood, but I was told this by a very reliable source - Their internet sales manager. :nono:

No dealerships were pulling that crap in the Bay Area. Since the car stickers at 32-35k and due to go up to 35-38k no way they will sell many doing that. However, I did find a Honda dealer in Marin County (Marin Honda) that had a used 2011 SL model with "only" 900 miles for 32k. That seemed like a decent reduction in price until I found out that you didn't get the $7,500 tax credit nor the $2,500 cash California rebate check. I offered them 20k cash and they laughed and said "someone will buy it for 32k. If you did, you'd get ZERO rebate, the previous owner obviously got it and either passed it on to the dealer or they stupid Hondaaaa dealer got ripped off.
