Possible purchase of new G35 Coupe (6spd manual)

I am thinking of possibly purchasing a new G35 coupe and I am curious to know if anyone has autocrossed this car. If so, how did it do? Can you turn off the VDC/traction control and drive like a hooligan every once in a while? I currently have an 04 miata with mild work set-up for autocross and love the car, handling is un-matched by anything i've ever driven short of a Porsche. I want to know if you owner's out there think I could have as much fun in the G35? I've driven the car on a short test-drive and liked it a lot, but it is not the same as driving it for a long time or owning it. Also reliability is key as well... will the G35 put up with abuse or am I looking at a lot of problems. I used to be a mechanic and can work on my own car, but in my opinion a performance car is no good if it spends its time on the lift. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
