Possible problem with the J30 LSD

I went to the junk yard last week and pulled a diff from a 1993 j30 and got the axles for my s14 240sx. When i pulled the axles off of the pumpkin there was fluid coming out of the driver side output shaft. It was really thin kind of a brownish fluid. Is that supposed to happen. There was a tiny hole in the output shaft that it was leaking out of. The diff spins very smooth. Does it have something with the diff being abs or is it supposed to do it at all?

I will try my best to do that either today or this weekend. The diff is about an hour away from me right now.

to be honest with you i dont see how a hole could have gotten there that was supposed to be there.. its very possible its for a sensor for ABS or something

that brownish fluid almost sounds like old differential fluid.
