So i was outside .. and looking around my dads truck (98 Toyota 4runner) .. take a look @ his front brakes... wooooooooo 4 pistons!!

So i get on net trying to find out if this has been done b4. Turns out a couple of TVR's and Triumps have done this.

http://www.britishv8.org/Artic...4.htmCheck out the engine .. KA24de .. nice

This is good for someone like me were finding a 300zx in a junkyard is rare.. where as 85 to 2001 4runner .. plenty

Looks like is would use the same type of brake lines as a 300zx and meaby some Toyota Cressida rotors that would need to be redrilled.

If someone has more info on this or knows of someone running this setup .. please share your 2 cents.

... Sooo who is gonna be the first to test this out!?!

You'll probably need to fabricate a bracket to bolt the caliper on there.

yea probably.. but the fact still remainds.. it's still something different.

one thing i saw was that i think 85 to 89 4runners use 4 pistons but 2 of them are larger than the other.. their's probably an advantage to that .. (more piston movement for less pedal travel )

i actually was looking at a 4 piston caliper newer 4 runner in our shop yesterday and wondering if they would work. in my 84 yota i also had 4 piston. im sure you could make it work. if you can weld, it would be easy to make a bracket. not rocket science. and choosing a rotor would just be measuring. im sure it can be done for cheaper than the 300zx setup. but they dont say nissan lol

Just swap the 8-piston monster off of a CL55. Can't say replacement rotors will be cheap, though.
