Hey everyone and i will say that i am a nissan convert, i drove, worked on, raced and tore apart and rebuilt honda crxs/acura integras forever and enjoyed them, but after my brother bought his 240 i had to get one. Well i did and i bought it for 100 dollars, body is in pristine condition, some crappy carpet issues inside, no biggie, but it has 2 blown tires which i have to replace, a dead battery and the motor issue. Okay to start the question...The guy i bought it from bought it from another guy who was having thick rich smoking exhaust issues so i was thinking MAF and or injectors, its a 93 240sx by the way.Well the guy said it wouldnt start after that, and then the battery died and never got around to getting it worked on. The problem is the previous owner took the head apart, i dont know if he went deeper than that and put it back together, having more parts when he finished than when he started and threw them away, needless to say im afraid of trying to crank the motor when i put another battery in, and am wondering if there is a book out there that has either engine diagrams or parts listings so i can take a look and figure out whats missing. Also, the next question is, i plan on doing an S13 red top engine swap if i cant get this KA24DE motor working. if i do, can i keep the battery in the engine bay or do i have to relocate it to the trunk, and anyone have anyone intercoolers/SQBValves that they recommend? Sorry for the long post and hello everyone, thanks for replying if u do!

check out the resources section. NICO's hosting the FSM's now. You can d/l the fsm and go over your engine build with a fine tooth comb that way.

if it's puffing black smoke and you've checked the mafs and injectors, replace the coolant temp sensor.

battery to the trunk, worthwhile, but unless your battery tray is falling apart or if you're getting pipes for a front mount, then bleh. Either that or you can get a mini battery that'll crank the motor but not really drive an uber sound system.

fmic's? hmm well ARC or Apexi if you've money. HKS are a bit over priced, and Greddy for best bang for the buck for prefabbed ones. I went with a spearco core and garrett end tanks. Many, many options.

bovs i'm assuming you're referencing to? well alot of opinions out there. I'd probably stay away from the blitz ones since they're prone to leaking unless they've fixed that with their newer ones. I've a Sard R2D2 through-type (recirced) and like it alot.

well the option to save the engine flew out the window today as we really got in the engine bay and looked around, and the brackets that sit on top of the camshafts are all gone and the chain is loose, not to mention all the cut and missing hoses and the lack of an intake and intake manifold to be more precise so i have opted to go with an S13 Red Top Conversion from http://www.jazzproparts.com since i felt their engine package was the best for the money so thank you all and wish me luck.

I'm sure you have searched already and discovered this on your own, but putting the battery in the trunk is only really necessary when installing a FMIC, otherwise, the sr has a sidemount that route all the piping though the driver's side. Also, another option is to get a smaller battery like an odessy or an optima.
