Possible mileage tampering

I test drove another Q today. It was a 2002 with 51k miles. I thought it was great deal until i got there to see it. The paint, interior and the ride seem more like a car with 100k miles on it.

I called my local dealer and had them run the VIN for service history and they had no records in the past 24 months. The last know service was an oil change back in 05 at 39k miles.

Is it possible that this guy rolled the miles back? I thought that was impossible on the newer model Q's.....

Without written legal proof of 4 oil changes in the previous 24 months the engine warranty is void. so the impuned 51k is not material.

Do a registration trace to see who held title for the previous years.

Sounds fishy. Nothing on a carfax either? When I ran my Q through carfax at the dealership, it came up with all of the state inspections that it passed and the odometer reading that it went in with. NY, PA, and NJ.

Sounds fishy, I'm down here in Athens Tx and we looked at 2 Qs in Dallas that obviously had been tampered with, then I flew to Houston and looked at one at Hira Motors it was a rollback or had been thru a hurricane or came from the bottom of a bayou. I then enrolled in CarFax it was worth it. I just bought my 3rd Q45. Two came from Las Vegas one with 28K and one with 33K both guaranteed one owners. It took awhile to find these but gawd what great cars HOLD OUT FOR THE ONE OWNERS and enroll in the CARFAX program it's only $24 a month I think for their service.
