I am talking with a local guy who has this setup, and he is willing to sell it to me for 3K(includes engine, installation, and tuning). He is also willing to let me pay monthly instead of all at one time. He is what it has

DOHC KA24DET motor setup:9:1 wiesco pistons 89.5mm borestock rodsnew bearings everywherestock 98 headS13 camsClutch Masters Stg3 clutch

Turbo setup:TO4e 50trim turboCustom manifold with low angle 4-1 merge collector (my avatar)3” dp with 1.5” wastegate pipe to dp for quiet operationHKS wastegate 5psi springCold air intakeStainless steel lines for oil drain/feed

The setup is bad *** really. With a ported head it put down 360rwhp @15psi with a stock head I expect 350rwhp. Motor can handle 400-450hp on stock rods. Its quiet as a ***** when boost hits. Full boost by 3200rpm useable torque from 2500-5800rpm. Power peak at 6000rpm redline 6500rpm. Motor has about 3-6 k miles on it. Anything above 14psi recomended higher octane than 93.

What do you guys think? Should i worry about connecting rods or will they be fine for daily driving. Thanks

What's he use for fuel management? Have you seen his 15psi dyno's?

Greaser (the guy he's trying to buy the kit from) is a reputable and accomplished 240 guy, the best-known around here actually. The kit is of good quality and the car it came out of was a beast.

nuff said. buy it.

if you had said "Greaser was selling me a turbo kit" and never even mentioned what was in it, i'd say buy it.

Doubtful, but in the older school 240 community, Derek is decently known. He has had both a very powerful Turbo KA and SR 240. He's since dropped them both and chillaxin' in a relatively stock '89 I believe.

not personally, but he has a VERY good reputation and has proven to be a VERY competent tuner.

It costs alot, and he may have grown tired of the game. He came, he saw, he conquered a bit--then the bandwagon hit. Maybe he decided to not be associated with that?

I'd pay 5k for that shizzle, 3k is a steal.

Well it may have to wait right now. He wants a little more a month than it is possible for me to do, especially being in school full time. Plus i don't have anything to run the fuel system, and i know that can be expensive in itself. Even if i don't get this setup from him, i will have him build mine in a few months for me. His new project is going to be pushing 500-600rwhp, from an HKS turbo. I can't wait to see that.
