possible intercooler problem

ok guys i have a blacktop s13 sr and im having some problems running it. when i rev in neutral i can get it to 7000rpm but not to red line. when i am driving tho i can only get it 2500 which is an intercooler leak. i already went over the intercooler (side mount so its not in the best shape) and everything is tight and i didn't see any rips but im gonna go over it again tommorw. what i wanted to know is if it is an intercooler leak why is it i can rev it basicly to red line but when its in gear it won't go. also it stalls when i put the clutch in. i just wanted to see if it could be anything eles.

possiable MAFS problem. make sure it is clean and pointing the right way and the wires are all in good condition.

yeah i had a mafs problem before and it wouldn't go above 2500. i can rev it all the way but if there is any load on the car it won't rev
