I was researching fuel options for the Bronco that I'm slowly rebuilding and ran across this:http://www.kinsler.com/manifol...n.htm

Didn't know if any of you V8 guys had seen this.

Only problem with that is you would have to cut a big-a$$ hole in the hood.

Now if it didn't have the velocity stacks and the throttle bodies, ( at least those look like ITB's), were closer to the intake ports it would definately draw my interest.

Oh, and also the injector ports would have to be topside, not on the bottom.

Two problems with multiple TB [8] are bad low rpm idle syncronization and the length of the runner from atmosphere to midpoint of intake valve lift sets the reverse wave torque enhancement. 18" [Q45] tunes or 4,000, 5500, and 6,000 rpm.

Dont those bolt onto the head? Seems like theyre not much taller than the spider plus the runners underneath...

Yes, they do bolt directly to the heads.

No, they aren't much taller than the factory manifolds/plenum, but the velocity stacks are an issue.

Not that it wouldn't fit under the hood, just that it would be hot unfiltered air being drawn in from the engine bay ,and thats if it cleared the padding on the underside of the hood.

Probably no too bad an idea if you run hoodless at the track.

Also, the angle of the injectors as bottom mounts aren't as efficient as the top mount design(oem).

they dont bolt to the head. they bolt to small runners. those runners bolted to the spider looking manifold. so it is pretty tall and not street able. ITBs on a v8 would be sweet though

You are incorrect, they do bolt directly to the head. The arrangement shown would not work if it bolted to the lower runners because they are not spaced evenly. Also, from the picture you can tell that the lower part of the ITB manifold is oval shaped, the top of the short runners is round. Lastly, the stock injectors fit to the lower runners, making the injector ports in these ITB runners useless, and 16 injectors is rather un-necessary in a high revving NA V8.

I called kinsler last week and spoke to there tech.

Sadly he informed me that the manifold does not bolt up to the q45 at all. He had a customer purchase it only to find out that it did not line up at all on the vh45de motor.
