Hey all, I'm new to the boards obviously, but have much familiarity with cars and forums

I'm an extremely active member on a few Accord forums, and looooove my Accord. However, I'm really liking the look of the new 08/09 Maximas.

I was wondering if anyone could school me on what some of the downfalls of owning a Maxima might be?

For example, on an 98-02 Accord, there was a good chance an AT would fail on you between 60k and 100k miles on the tach.Things like this is what i'm looking for.

I'm interested in purchasing an 08+ coupe, and immediately throwing on:- CAI- Coilovers- Rims- Aftermarket headunit- Claybar- WetPaint - Hot bishez.. wait.. what? Yeah you heard right!

'09 Model isn't available quite yet.

'08 is the same as the ''04-'07s. '07 is closest (as in '07 there were minor exterior and interior changes, transmission changes [cvt instead of previous manual or auto choices]).

'08s shouldn't have a lot of issues. The issues that generation did have have been worked out by now.

The current generation Maximas aren't really old enough to have any reliable idea of what happens at 100k+ miles. However, they've proven very stout mechanically. Older Maximas did have a pretty predictable time of transmission failure (it was closer to the 200k mark than 100k, though). The newer ones don't suffer from those issues--the 5 speed auto, 6 speed manual are strong. The new CVT (only choice from '07 on) seems very dependable but hasn't been around long enough to draw any high-milage conclusions.
