here's the deal, on my350z forums they are using resisters wired in line on teh air bag circuit, tricking the srs sytem into thinking the airbag is still there to get rid of teh air bag light as well as keep their passenger airbag active. does anyone know the resistance across the air bag in a 96 240. the drivers side one. if someone has that information, i will go out and get a resistor to see if it works.

I had same problem.... just remove the bulb and one day eventually take out the pass airbag as well, all that $hit weighs a ton anyhow. From what it sounds like is you are still trying to retain functionability of your pass air bag but my question is why??

Resetting a blinking airbag light.

First of all, while this can be attributable to a bad air bag sensor, it's best to run this past a dealer first.

If you're certain it's not an airbag issue, and you simply want to reset the light (after servicing the airbags or dash)...

Open driver doorGet inShut doorTurn ignition to the on position (all the way, but not to start car)Open doorReach down with your left handPress the door ajar sensor button thing (7) timesShut doorStart your car.....

This should reset the airbag lamp.

Read his post guy.... you can't reset the light if you have removed one of the bags i.e. driver's side to install aftermarket wheel.

The bulb for the air bag light is embedded into the speedo unit, and not a bulb you can take out from the back, I just simply slipped a piece of black plastic between the back of the tach and the light Voila, no more blinking light.

I can only imagine how stupid someone has to be to say what you just said about airbags.
