hey, i found this 240 on craigslist. it seems very legit. what do you guys think? what are the ups and downs to this set up? and do any of you guys have any of theses parts? if so, how do you like them?? im asking for your guys opinions ( postive and negative) thanks guys.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have a 1989 240 sx hatchback with a 1993 motor with about 70,000 on it before rebuild, the thing is built to withstand almost anything you can throw at it, the set up currently is more for gas mileage, and a break-in setup, i have the setup i was goin to use on it, and we can probably work something out on those if you want them. which will put this car at around 400whp! the car already pulls on every sr20det ive ever raced, and it ran a 15.4 at 106, with like a 3 second 60ft, the car wont get traction through 1st and 2nd, but has the potential to be a low 13second car, and ive proven that. but it was built as a drift car and does that extremly well.
heres the mod list,
-KA24DET
1. Forged Pistons-Arias 8.8:1 Forged Pistons
2. Forged Rods- Eagle H-beam
3. Clevite Main and Rod Bearings
4. Cometic Head Gasket
5. Arp Head Studs (10mm)
6. Fel-pro Full Engine Gasket Set
7. Megan Racing T3 turbo manifold
8. HKS GT2510 turbo
9. Greedy turbo elbow and downpipe
10. Ebay intercooler, and piping
11. Blitz SS BOV
12. Manual boost controler set at 10-15 psi depending on your mood
13.Walbro 255lph fuel pump
14. enthalpy tuned ecu for SR20 370cc injectors, SR20 MAF (i have a Z32 MAF). put down 250hp
15. I have some extra parts that ive acuired for the car to put it in the 400HP range,a gt3271, sard 550cc injectors.
SUSPENSION
1. Silk-Road RM-64, 32 way adjustable in the front 16 way adjustable in the back, they dont sell these in the U.S. i had them shipped from japan, they ride amazingly well for coilovers, better than any others ive road in.
2. Nismo 1.5-way LSD, thing grabs hard
3. ACT stage 4 clutch
4. Hesami Sport JGTC championship wheels, 16x9 in the rear, 16x8 in the front.
BODY
1. the fenders/quater panels are rolled and pulled to fit the wheels in, and the guy who did it dented them a little
2. the hood is silver the rest of the car is charcol grey,
other than that the car is in great condition, the interior is pretty good for being 20yrs old, it has SE seats in it which are comfy and rare, and SE floor lights also rare.
the car was built as a drifter and it does it very well, im just getting out of the drifting thing, its a low 13 second car if it had good tires on it, with the tires on it it ran a 15.6 at 101mph with an almost 3 second 60ft, the car keeps up with a 13.7sec srt4 and a 13.4 sec evo9
