Hyundai has come a long way in the past few years...

I know it's not an Infiniti.... but... not a bad looking car.

Read about the Genesis coupe some time ago on Autoblog...definitely has the numbers on paper to put it inline with a G. For the price-point, I would certainly take one over an Altima Coupe.

If they want to send it to Japan to be "corrected" then maybe it would be worth considering.

But as far as I'm concerned, Korea has consistently produced crap. The only product I've been happy with from over there, is my Samsung phone.

The LGs are ****, the hyundais are ****, the daewoos...****....I see a trend.

Yikes...they called out the G37 in the article! I'm all for it! If they make a decent car that sells, then other makers will lower their prices...Ahhh I love capitalism!!

That car, and the Lexus IS F may be enough for Infiniti to stick a 5.0 in the G and run it through the auto press for comments. I swear, I can feel it coming our way.

The car intrigues me from a standpoint of how much Hyundai is trying to go after the more premium auto brands. With such a horrible reputation on its shoulders, it will be interesting to watch.

But personally, until I see consistent indications that Hyundai is using some quality engineering designs, I'll be keeping them at arms length. A trip to the tire shop this weekend allowed me a peek under a late model Hyundai sedan. Just seeing a rear suspension arm set-up using 2 long tie rods and a strut is enough to keep me from looking their way for some time.

The Lexus IF is going to be in the neighborhood of 200k.WAY overpriced. I'm sorry, unless there's a Ferrari or Lambo badge on it, the 200k isn't going to Lexus...

Read it in Road and Track (I think, one of the monthly's) when they were discussing the convertible version. And I meant the IF-A

The IS-F is one sweet car. Sat in one at the auto show and it is well put together! It has one of the sweetest sounding door closings ever as well.

Wow that hyundai looks pretty nice, it looks more like a mixture of a "G" and a lexus IS250, I still rather choose quality and get the "G"

Having lived in Korea and i speak the language (I'm not Korean) I can tell you some things about the culture and how things are produced.

Although they have come a long way in the past 10 years in electronics, Korea has not been well known for its vehicles. In fact, when they hit a specific mileage they will ship vehicles to Russia, where they most cetainly will fall apart.

They hate Japan. They love american things but hate America. They copy and try to make everything just like ours, but quality almost always falls way short.

IMO, this car is supposed to look like the G37 but be just different enough to make people think they aren't copying and it bothers me.

I think it's going to be a fairly nice car. True, Hyundai has been dogged for years by less-than-impressive showings in times past. However, so have Japanese brands. With each generation, their stuff gets better.

That said, I noticed that they (Hyundai) called out the Ecrapse as well as the G37. I'm sorry, but who invited that... pile to the party? It's not quite sport, and a long way from luxury. Not to mention, it's a bloated, heavy, don't-know-which-end-is front chick car (IMHO). Long live the first- and second-gen DSMs, crankwalk and all.
