Happy New Year all,

I was hoping mine would start out as such but i guess it wasn't meant to be. Info: 92' 240sx se 62k miles

About a week ago I started noticing that when i was in 2,3,4 gear, the engine would rev up to like 5k rpm (and the car was definitley not going at the speed for that rom and gear) drop down to about 2-3k rpm and then I'd work up to the next shift.

From what i know about manual transmissions, it sounded like the clutch was going. Yesterday morning i drove home from partying and parked the car. When i got out something smelled really bad. Later on yesterday i went to move the car, put it in reverse, let the clutch out, and nothing, it wouldn't move. I really needed to move the car so at like 4-5k rpm i got it to inch out.

Now its 1-2-03 and i need somehelp. I've been reading all morning on clutch problems, master/slave cylinders, bleeding, resurfacing flywheels, the works.

I want to really check this problem out myself b4 resorting to bring it to a shop. Can it be anything else other than the Clutch? I'm going to go check the fluids in the cylinders right now. Any insoght would help.

yup don't make it slip anymore; get the clutch kit replaced ASAP; don't want to glaze over the whole flywheel or overheat it to the point that it can't be resurfaced anymore...
