Well being one that constantly futzes around with stuff (don't try that yourselves, it's only for professionals on a closed crazy-mind course
So I'm in Radio Shack, on a totally different mission, and I mention to one of the guys there about the J's Bose CD, yada, yada. He asks me if I've ever seen the insides of a CD player, which for the life of me I can't believe I haven't taken one apart yet, so I say no. He goes on to say that most of them are just major dirty inside, so dirty that CD cleaners don't work because the head's skipping tracks or it just shuts down with an error (is this sounding familiar?). He said just taking it apart and cleaning it works most of the time, no parts, just cleaning. So I say: what about just shooting in air from a can of air using the tube to get in the CD slot? He says: that'd definately be worth a try...
Have folks tried this before?? 'cause I didn't do a search 1st...
It worked, on mine at least. I've played 2 CDs so far and it can go backwards/forwards between tracks, play the whole CD, do random -- in other words everything it's supposed to do. I'll keep playing more CDs and see if it lasts, but can it be simpler??!
